Te Ara Poutama – SkillMe Maori and Pasifika Trade Training Scholarships

Te Ara Poutama – Skill Me gives scholarships, funded by the Tertiary Education Commission, to Māori and Pasifika rangatahi in Tauranga Moana who want to gain qualifications and experience in the trades.
Trade training, particularly in carpentry, linked to Ngā Potiki home construction projects offers apprenticeship opportunities for rangatahi, leading to exciting careers in the building industry. Te Ara Poutama is a collaboration with Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology, Ngā Potiki a Tamapahore Trust, Pacific Island Community Tauranga Trust, Te Taumata o Ngāti Whakaue Iho Ake Trust, Taumarunui Community Kokiri Trust and various trades-related industry partners. Te Ara Poutama is also in the process of amalgamating with Rotorua-based Māori and the Pasifika Trade Training Group. |
